-Your 5-day Cairo tour starts with a delectable buffet breakfast at your hotel followed by a visit to Saqqara Necropolis with a certified tour guide. The necropolis, which dates back to the Old Kingdom, features The Step Pyramid complex of King Djoser, the tombs of nobles, and the Pyramid of King Teti was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the Sixth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom period, which lasted from around 2323 BCE to 2150 BCE. You will be transferred to Saqqara from Cairo to explore these fascinating ancient sites.
-After visiting Saqqara Necropolis, you will be taken to the ancient city of Memphis to explore artifacts from various periods of the Pharaonic era. These include the Alabaster Sphinx of Memphis and the massive statue of King Ramses II He is considered one of the most powerful and influential pharaohs in Egyptian history, known for his military campaigns, building projects, and cultural achievements.
-We will be taken to the Pyramids of Giza to begin our tour of the three pyramids built by the kings of the 4th dynasty: Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. We will witness the magnificence of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, which held the title of the world's tallest structure for 4,500 years until the construction of the Lincoln Cathedral in 1311 A.D.
-We can view the three pyramids from a high plateau and also take an optional one-hour camel ride to capture stunning photos of the landscape. We will then proceed to see the Great Sphinx of Chephren, a mythical creature with a human head and a lion's body. Our tour of the Giza Pyramids will also include a visit to the Valley Temple, also known as the mummification temple, located within Chephren's funeral complex. Here, our Egyptologist guide will explain the various stages of the mummification process used by the ancient Egyptians.
